2026-07-07 09-34 The First International Forum of Islamic Civilization “Islamic Civilization: The Path of Peace, Tolerance and Enlightenment” to Begin in Tashkent
From July 7 to 11, 2026, the First International Forum of Islamic Civilization titled “Islamic Civilization: The Path of Peace, Tolerance and Enlightenment” will be held in Tashkent.
The prestigious forum is expected to bring together high-ranking guests from more than 50 countries, including religious and public figures, ministers, rectors of higher education institutions, professors, researchers, representatives of scientific centers, and international organizations.
Ahead of the forum, on July 6, Rector of Uzbekistan State World Languages University Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov welcomed the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdelaziz Konsowa, who arrived in Uzbekistan, at Tashkent International Airport.
During the meeting, the guest was briefed on the large-scale reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, the atmosphere of peace and stability in the country, the special attention given to science and higher education, as well as the initiatives being carried out at Uzbekistan State World Languages University to develop Arabic language education.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited the Islamic Civilization Center, where they became acquainted with the center’s activities, modern facilities, and unique manuscripts. During the visit, Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov provided detailed information about the center’s scientific potential, ongoing activities, and future projects.
As part of the visit program, an official meeting was also held between the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdelaziz Konsowa and the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov.
