On September 4, the rector of Uzbekistan State World Languages University, Ilhomjon Tuxtasinov, together with first-year students and all faculty deans, visited the State Museum of Victims of Repression and the Memorial Square of Martyrs in Tashkent.

The event was also attended by Salohiddin Sanaqulov, Head of the Department of Youth Policy, Social-Educational and Upbringing Affairs of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, who addressed the students on the importance of preserving historical memory, appreciating independence, and being responsible for the country’s prosperity.

Rector Ilhomjon Tuxtasinov spoke to the youth about the museum’s exhibits and the tragic events of the repression era, emphasizing that independence is the greatest blessing of our nation. He also stressed the importance of being grateful for today’s peaceful and prosperous life and of learning lessons from history.

During the visit, which involved faculty deans, professors, and heads of various departments, students gained deeper insights into the hardships faced by the Uzbek people and the struggle of the national intellectuals for enlightenment.

This event served to strengthen students’ sense of historical memory, independence values, and patriotism.
