2026-10-30 07-31 THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE UZSWLU COUNCIL WAS HELD
On 30 October, the 2nd–3rd meeting of the Council of Uzbekistan State World Languages University was held. The meeting was chaired by the University Rector and Chair of the Council, Professor Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov.
The agenda covered key priorities of the University's activities, the quality of education, research activities, international cooperation, student accommodation, occupational health and safety, and executive discipline.
Reports from the relevant university officials were heard on the agenda items. In particular, the meeting reviewed the results achieved during the first nine months of 2026 in international cooperation, attracting international investment and grant funding, exporting educational services, handling public enquiries, and meeting the University's performance targets.
The meeting also addressed the results of the “Rector's Scholarship” competition, the admission of international students for the 2026/2027 academic year, student accommodation arrangements, the operation of the Office Registrar platform, and the organisation of professional training courses for final-year students.
Special attention was also given to research-related matters. These included the approval of dissertation topics for doctoral students and independent researchers, recommendations for the publication of academic monographs, the establishment of academic journals, the implementation of innovative projects, and the creation of spin-off companies affiliated with the University.
In addition, the agenda included the nomination of academic staff for academic titles, the consideration of candidates for academic department and other positions, as well as matters concerning the activities of the University's academic lyceum and master's degree programmes.
Following the discussions, relevant decisions were adopted on the agenda items, and responsible officials were assigned tasks to ensure the timely and effective implementation of the decisions made.
