The UK Hosts the “UK–Uzbekistan Education Forum”

 

On May 15, the “UK–Uzbekistan Education Forum” commenced in London, United Kingdom. This prestigious event is attended by leaders of top higher education institutions and representatives of research centers from both countries.

 

The delegation from Uzbekistan is led by Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Mr. O. Maxkamov, and includes Mr. O. Yusupov, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at the Uzbek State University of World Languages.

 

During the plenary session held on May 15, participants discussed the ongoing reforms in the education systems of Uzbekistan and the UK, as well as the prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation. Several proposals were put forward to further strengthen educational ties.

On the same day, Mr. Yusupov met with students and doctoral candidates from the Uzbek State University of World Languages and other Uzbek universities who are currently studying at various UK institutions through grants from the “El-Yurt Umidi” Foundation.

 

The forum will continue on May 16 at the University of Westminster, where leaders of higher education institutions and ministry representatives from both countries will exchange views on existing challenges and opportunities in the education sector and hold bilateral meetings.
