Uzbekistan State University of World Languages Discusses the Organization of the “European Day of Languages” and “European Film Festival”

On August 18, 2026, a working meeting was held at Uzbekistan State University of World Languages with Mikaela Zelenanska, Political Affairs Officer at the Delegation of the European Union to Uzbekistan.

 

 

The meeting was attended by O. Yusupov, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation; Kh. Yuldashev, Head of the International Cooperation Department; and K. Alimova, Leading Specialist of the Department.

During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on organizational matters related to holding the “European Day of Languages” at Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, which had been discussed during negotiations held on July 10 this year.

Kh. Yuldashev emphasized that the university would provide all the necessary conditions and opportunities to ensure the event is organized at a high level. In particular, it was noted that the university would allocate an assembly hall and four lecture halls for the event, provide the necessary technical equipment, arrange the reception and accompaniment of representatives of international organizations and embassies of European countries, and provide appropriate support to ensure the active participation of the university’s faculty members and students.

O. Yusupov shared his proposals and recommendations regarding the thorough development and implementation of the event programme in order to ensure that it is substantive and organized to a high standard.

The meeting also addressed the organization of a screening of English-language short films for students of Uzbekistan State University of World Languages on October 28, 2026, as part of the “European Film Festival”, with the films to be provided by the British Council.

 

 

At the end of the meeting, Mikaela Zelenanska was shown the foyer at the university’s main entrance, the assembly hall, and the lecture halls.

Concluding the meeting, the parties noted that Uzbekistan State University of World Languages has all the necessary conditions and opportunities to organize and hold these events at a high level.
