From June 16 to 19, 2025, the delegation of Uzbekistan State World Languages University (UzSWLU) is actively participating in the Global Sustainable Development Congress-2025 held in Istanbul, Turkey.

This international congress brings together leading global higher education institutions, scientific communities, and top experts in sustainable development, aiming to integrate education and science in pursuit of sustainable progress.

On June 17, the second day of the congress featured roundtable discussions, masterclasses, and open dialogues with representatives of top universities and renowned scholars from around the world.

Our university’s delegation actively participated in these sessions and explored advanced practices in global sustainability, education, and science.

A key highlight of the day was a special lecture delivered by Phil Baty, Global Affairs Director at Times Higher Education (THE) and one of the founders of the World University Rankings. UzSWLU representatives attended the session and gained valuable insights into international rankings, evaluation criteria, and sustainability indicators.

During the event, a brief conversation took place between our university’s delegation and Mr. Baty. The delegation shared updates on ongoing reforms, efforts to improve ranking positions, and notable achievements. In response, Mr. Baty expressed his pleasure in meeting the university representatives and stated his belief that UzSWLU would soon be among the world's prestigious universities.

In the second half of the day, the university exhibitions continued, during which warm relations were established with several international educational institutions and new opportunities for cooperation were explored.

This congress serves as an important milestone in strengthening UzSWLU’s international standing, expanding its global partnership network, and improving its performance in international rankings.
