UzSWLU Discusses International Cooperation with the Leadership of Indonesia’s UNESA University
On 2 July, Uzbekistan State World Languages University (UzSWLU) hosted an official meeting with a delegation from Surabaya State University (UNESA), Indonesia. The meeting was chaired by UzSWLU Rector Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov.
The UNESA delegation included Prof. Dr. H. Setya Yuwana, Chair of the University Senate; Prof. Dr. H. Haris Supratno, Chair of the Board of Trustees; Prof. Dr. Sujarwanto, Director of LabSchool; Prof. Dr. Hariyati, Head of the Finance Office; Prof. Dr. Mutimmatul Faidah, Director of the Center for Social Research and Innovation; Dr. Sukarmin, Head of Student Admissions; Dr. Herma Retno Prabayanti, Head of Public Relations; Dr. Vinda Maya Setianingrum, Director of Public Relations and Information; and Dr. Ima Widiyanah, Head of the LabSchool Quality Assurance Department.

Representing UzSWLU were Vice Rector for International Cooperation A. Nasirov, Head of the International Cooperation Department X. Yuldashev, Director of the Network Center for Retraining and Advanced Training of Pedagogical Personnel J. Abduganiyeva, Head of the Joint Educational Programs Coordination Department F. Rashidova, Dean of the Faculty of English Language No. 1 Guli Ergasheva, and Leading Specialist of the International Cooperation Department D. Xodjabekova.
During the meeting, both sides held comprehensive discussions on advancing strategic academic cooperation between the two universities. Particular attention was given to the development and implementation of double-degree programs, the organization of professional internships for UzSWLU students at UNESA, and the establishment of a systematic framework for these initiatives.
The participants also explored opportunities for implementing joint scientific and practical projects in education, research, and innovation; organizing professional development courses and international training programs for academic staff; expanding the teaching of the Indonesian language as a second foreign language at UzSWLU; engaging qualified specialists; and developing modern teaching and learning resources.
The two institutions further discussed mutually beneficial initiatives in the field of inclusive education, the exchange of scientific and methodological expertise, and strengthening their international academic reputation through the regular publication of jointly authored research articles in internationally recognized journals indexed in the Scopus database.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to further expand cooperation in the identified priority areas, implement promising projects in phases, and continue strengthening their long-term, mutually beneficial partnership.

Following the meeting, the UNESA delegation participated in a guided campus tour of Uzbekistan State World Languages University. The guests visited the university's modern academic buildings, classrooms, Information Resource Center, innovative learning facilities, and student support infrastructure. They were also introduced to the university's ongoing reforms aimed at improving educational quality, advancing research, expanding international cooperation, and enriching student life.
The delegation highly appreciated the university's modern infrastructure, dynamic academic environment, and extensive opportunities available to students, emphasizing that such visits would further strengthen long-term and productive cooperation between the two universities.
