UzSWLU Holds an Expanded Departmental Scientific Discussion of Another PhD Dissertation

On 2 July 2026, Uzbekistan State World Languages University (UzSWLU) held an expanded departmental scientific discussion of another dissertation submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pedagogical Sciences. The discussion was conducted in a hybrid format, both offline and via the ZOOM online platform.

During the session, participants comprehensively reviewed the dissertation entitled “A Linguocultural Approach to Teaching Foreign Languages as a Second Foreign Language” prepared by Fotima Tursinaliyevna Boysariyeva under Specialty 13.00.02 – Theory and Methodology of Education and Upbringing (English Language).

The discussion focused on the relevance of the research, its scientific novelty, theoretical and practical significance, the effectiveness of the linguocultural approach in teaching foreign languages as a second foreign language, and the potential for implementing the research findings in the educational process. The author presented the outcomes of the research, the scientific results achieved, and the proposed methodological solutions, and provided comprehensive answers to the questions raised by the participants.

The discussion was attended by the scientific supervisor, Professor D. M. Teshabayeva, Doctor of Philological Sciences (DSc), official reviewers, and members of the academic community, who presented their evaluations and recommendations. The scientific, theoretical, and practical value of the dissertation was recognized, and constructive recommendations were provided for its further improvement.

At the conclusion of the discussion, the relevant decision was adopted to recommend the dissertation for the next stage of the academic evaluation process in accordance with the established procedures.
