UzSWLU Holds Meeting with Delegation from Toyo University
A meeting was held at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages with a delegation from Toyo University of Japan, headed by Etsuko Yaguchi, President of Toyo University.
The meeting was attended by Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, Rector of UzSWLU, university officials responsible for international cooperation, faculty members, and representatives of Toyo University.
During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities to develop cooperation between the two universities in new areas.
In particular, they considered the possibility of organizing one-month professional development courses totaling 144 hours for academic staff, including online sessions.
The participants also discussed establishing two-week short-term academic and research internships, expanding opportunities to explore Toyo University’s library and educational process, participate in classes, and receive academic consultations for researchers.
In the field of Japanese language education, the parties exchanged views on developing joint textbooks, teaching and methodological materials, and electronic educational resources, as well as regularly organizing international academic conferences, seminars, webinars, and roundtable discussions.
Particular attention was paid to establishing scholarship and grant programmes for students and expanding opportunities for talented young people to study at Toyo University, undertake internships, and participate in academic and educational programmes.
The meeting also addressed opportunities to expand tuition-based study options for UzSWLU master’s students at Toyo University, as well as admission to master’s programmes, fields of study, duration of study, and admission requirements.
One of the key topics of the meeting was the establishment of a Toyo University research centre at UzSWLU. The centre would provide opportunities to implement joint research projects, prepare and publish academic articles, organize international conferences and seminars, and further develop academic exchange programmes for researchers and students.
The parties also discussed expanding cooperation in the areas of international grants, joint research and academic publications, strengthening academic mobility for faculty members and researchers, and organizing mutual visits, visiting professor programmes, lectures, master classes, and academic consultations.
The participants exchanged views on the consistent development of cooperation between UzSWLU and Toyo University in the areas of education, science, academic mobility, and joint projects.
