2026-10-12 09-45 UZSWLU HOSTS A CELEBRATION MARKING INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL
A festive event marking the International Day of the Girl, observed on October 11, was held at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages (UzSWLU). The event also included a meeting of members of the “Leader Girls” and “Qizlarjon” clubs.
The event was attended by UzSWLU Rector Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov and Shohida Batirovna, the Rector’s Adviser on Women’s Issues.
Opening the event, UzSWLU Rector Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov spoke about the significance of the International Day of the Girl, the support provided to women and girls in Uzbekistan, and the opportunities created for them to pursue education, realize their potential, and participate actively in public life.
In his congratulatory address, the rector recognized girls as builders of the nation’s future and emphasized the importance of education, developing leadership skills, and achieving new milestones. He also highlighted the importance of supporting young women’s initiatives and fostering a sense of responsibility and leadership among them.
As part of the celebration, participants exchanged views on the activities of the “Leader Girls” and “Qizlarjon” clubs, ways to further develop their initiatives, and opportunities to increase girls’ engagement in university life. A ceremony was also held to present letters of authorization to the club leaders.
The celebration took place in a warm atmosphere of sincere dialogue, heartfelt wishes, and high spirits.
