UzSWLU Rector Meets Students and Faculty Departing for Japan

On June 23, the Rector of Uzbekistan State World Languages University, Ilkhomjon Tuxtasinov, met with 2 faculty members and 10 students from the Faculty of Eastern Philology who are leaving for Japan to participate in a two-month Japanese language and culture program organized by the Higashikawa School under a grant from Hokkaido Prefecture.

 

 

During the meeting, Ilkhomjon Tuxtasinov emphasized the expanding socio-humanitarian cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan, and spoke about the international programs, grants, and academic exchange opportunities being created for UzSWLU’s faculty and students.

He urged the participants to strengthen their Japanese language skills, gain a deeper understanding of the country’s rich culture, broaden their worldview, and represent Uzbekistan and UzSWLU with dignity. He also stressed the importance of young people avoiding involvement in destructive movements amid global instability and focusing on science and personal development.

Head of the Department of Japanese Philology, Nargiza Khamidova, expressed her sincere gratitude to the university leadership for the conditions provided for learning Japanese, the consistent policy of strengthening ties with Japanese universities, and the opportunities for studying abroad.

 

 

Representatives of the group traveling to Higashikawa noted that they plan to organize "Uzbekistan Cultural Days" for officials of Hokkaido Prefecture, showcasing the nation's rich cultural heritage through traditional music, dance, and stage performances.
