Visit to the Embassy of Greece

On January 19, 2026, an official meeting was held between representatives of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University and Her Excellency Ms. Paraskevi Tzeveleki, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The meeting was attended by Elmira Moydinova, Head of the Department of Second Foreign Languages, and Surayyo Musayeva, a Greek language instructor. The discussion also included Georgios Efthymiadis, a volunteer lecturer of the Department of Second Foreign Languages, and Christos Sklivanos, Deputy Head of Mission.

During the meeting, comprehensive discussions were held on the educational reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, the university’s activities in international cooperation, the development of Greek language education, and future plans. In particular, it was emphasized that a celebratory event dedicated to the International Greek Language Day is planned to be held at USWLU on February 9, 2026, during which students studying Greek will present their creative and academic achievements.

Her Excellency expressed her readiness to provide practical support in expanding cooperation with Greek higher education institutions, creating new opportunities for students and faculty through international programs such as Erasmus+, as well as assisting in the establishment of a Greek Language Center.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties identified specific directions for elevating cooperation in education and research to a new level and for launching joint projects and academic exchange programs.
