Based on the memorandum of cooperation signed in 2019 between the Uzbekistan State World Languages University and 1 Decembrie 1918 University of Alba Iulia (Romania), a regular exchange of faculty and students is being conducted within the Erasmus+ KA171 academic mobility project. To date, the exchange of 5 faculty members and 4 students has been successfully organized under this project.

On February 2, 2026, a doctoral student from the partner university, Ismet Dilaver, visited USWLU. Under the Erasmus+ program, he has conducted academic activities in various European countries eight times, and this visit marked his first trip to the Central Asian region.

During the visit, the researcher carried out a month-long study in American literature at the university. Seminars were also organized for talented students, master’s students, doctoral candidates, and faculty, where he shared his experience and academic insights.

During the meeting, the university Rector Ilkhomjon Tuxtasinov, taking into account the doctoral student’s Bosnian background, suggested exploring the possibility of teaching Bosnian and related languages as a third foreign language, as well as establishing cooperation with higher education institutions in Bosnia.

Additionally, within the Erasmus+ KA171 project, Ziyinatshoyev Xojiakbar, a 3rd-year student of the Foreign Languages and Literature program at the 1st Faculty of English, was sent to 1 Decembrie 1918 University of Alba Iulia (Romania) for one semester of academic mobility in the second semester of the current academic year.

These academic exchanges carried out under this cooperation help expand the university’s international experience and scientific collaboration.
