DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE
The large-scale socio-political reforms implemented in recent years in Uzbekistan have increased the demand for young personnel who deeply understand the life of the state and society, are socially active, and possess political knowledge and skills. Based on the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 28, 2022, № УП-60 "On the Strategy for the Development of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026" and the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 29, 2019, № ПП-4139 "On Measures to Enhance the Effectiveness of Training Personnel, Fundamental and Applied Research in the Field of Political Science," a bachelor's program in Political Science (60310100) was established at the Uzbek State University of World Languages for the 2022-2023 academic year. Starting from the 2023-2024 academic year, bachelor’s programs in International Relations (60310200) and Sociology (60310400) were also introduced. These new educational programs help students independently analyze political phenomena and processes, enhance political awareness and culture, and form systematic knowledge about the socio-political spheres of state and society life as well as contemporary international relations.
In accordance with Protocol №1 of the Council of the Uzbek State University of World Languages dated August 29, 2024, and the Rector's Order № 3561 dated August 30, 2024, the Department of Political Science was established.

The Department of Political Science employs 25 professors and instructors, including 14 full-time staff, 3 part-time staff, and 8 external collaborators. The department comprises 5 Doctor of Sciences (DSc), 12 Candidates of Sciences (PhD), 2 professors, and 10 associate professors. The overall scientific potential of the department is 68%, with an average age of the faculty being 45 years.
The Political Science Department includes three bachelor's programs:

Information on Local and Foreign Partners: The Department of Political Science has extensive cooperative ties with various government and public organizations, political parties, and media outlets in our country. Additionally, the Department collaborates with Lund University (Sweden), the Institute of Sciences (France), Nagoya University and Tsukuba University (Japan), Marmara University (Turkey), and Southern Federal University (Russia) in the fields of teaching, social-political sciences, and conducting scientific and fundamental research.
