“Certificate Preparation Course” Event Held at UzSWLU
On October 8, the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages hosted an event titled “Certificate Preparation Course.”
The event was attended by representatives of the Tashkent City Department of Preschool and School Education, English language teachers from general education schools in the Sergeli, Uchtepa, Chilanzar, and Shaykhantohur districts, the university administration, staff of the Department of Student Practice, and university faculty members.
The event was opened by the Rector of UzSWLU, Mr. Ilkhomjon Tuxtasinov. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of advancing the foreign language teaching system in Uzbekistan to a new level, improving education quality, and assessing teachers’ qualifications based on international standards.
“Today’s world requires a teacher not only to teach but also to constantly grow, learn, and stay in step with the times. This is especially important for English language teachers. A B2-level certificate is not just a document — it is a symbol of a teacher’s professional prestige and self-confidence,” the rector noted.
During the event, presentations were delivered by Khurshida Jalolova, Head of the Department for the Promotion of Foreign Language Learning at the Tashkent City Department of Preschool and School Education; Farrukh Eshmamatov, Head of the Department of Student Practice at UzSWLU; and lecturers of the Department of Theoretical Aspects of the English Language — Parvina Mukhtashamova, Asem Kuandikova, and Nilufar Shakirova.
The main goal of the course is to prepare English teachers from general education schools affiliated with UzSWLU who do not yet hold national or international certificates of B2 level or higher, to enhance their professional competence, and to further improve the quality of education.
At the end of the event, participants shared their opinions and engaged in a lively Q&A session.
