On June 12, 2024, UzSWLU rector I. Tukhtasinov received German professor Johannes Keller-Herder, manager of the German-Uzbekistan Scientific Society, and Victoria Keller-Herder, a member of the society.

They are the children of the famous folklorist Gabriele Herder and made a significant contribution to strengthening the relations between the two countries.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the issues of development of German language teaching. Professor Johannes Keller-Herder presented to the university the "Annotated Catalog of Uzbek Magical Tales", which is the product of 20 years of work and published in Germany in 2 volumes, containing about a thousand tales in Uzbek.

I. Tukhtasinov acknowledged that the President pays a lot of attention to the field of translation, and expressed his readiness to work together in the future to translate rare works in German and Uzbek languages, to cooperate with German higher education institutions working in this direction, and to implement joint educational programs in the field of translation.
