Media Literacy Training for Journalists Started at Uzbek State University of World Languages
On June 19, 2025, a two-day training titled "Enhancing Media Literacy Potential of Uzbek Journalists" began at the International Journalism Faculty of the Uzbek State University of World Languages (UzSWLU).
The training was organized with the support of UNESCO and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), in cooperation with UzSWLU and the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan.
More than 20 journalists, bloggers, and researchers in the field of journalism are participating in the event.
The training sessions are being conducted by the following specialists:

On the first day of the training, practical sessions covered the basics of media and information literacy, critical thinking, ethical and gender approaches in preparing mass media materials, and the use of online sources.
The event will continue tomorrow, June 20, with sessions on the legal foundations of media literacy, international experience in combating fake news, and final assessments and analyses for participants.
