Meeting Held with Representatives of the Uzbekistan Publishing and Printing Creative House
On September 9, 2026, a meeting with representatives of the Uzbekistan Publishing and Printing Creative House was held at Uzbekistan State University of World Languages.
The meeting was attended by Rector of Uzbekistan State University of World Languages Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, Dean of the Faculty of Translation Studies U. Yuldoshev, Head of the Uzbekistan Publishing and Printing Creative House Kh. Makhmudov, and Deputy Editor-in-Chief M. Yakubjanova.
During the meeting, particular attention was paid to translating rare and valuable works of national literature into foreign languages, promoting them internationally, and further developing a culture of reading among young people.
Representatives of the publishing house presented the English-language editions of Oybek’s “Navoi” and Pirimqul Kadyrov’s “The Nights of the Stars”. The contribution of O‘zDJTU Rector Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, Dean of the Faculty of Translation Studies U. Yuldoshev, and A. Khamidov to the translation of these works into English was particularly highlighted.
The meeting also addressed ways to elevate cooperation between Uzbekistan State University of World Languages and the Uzbekistan Publishing and Printing Creative House to a new level, expand translation and publishing projects, and carry out further work on translating national literary works into foreign languages.
For reference: In order to widely promote reading in the country, encourage young people to read literature of various genres and fields, and promote national literary works in foreign languages, a cooperation memorandum was signed between Uzbekistan State University of World Languages and the Uzbekistan Publishing and Printing Creative House.
Within the framework of the memorandum, the publishing house has published English translations of Abdulla Qodiriy’s “Bygone Days”, Oybek’s “Navoi”, and Pirimqul Kadyrov’s “The Nights of the Stars”.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue their cooperation consistently, expand translation projects, and further strengthen collaboration aimed at bringing outstanding works of Uzbek literature to international readers.
