On October 3, the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, in collaboration with the “Uzbekistan-Germany” Friendship Society, held a competition for the “Best PowerPoint Presentation” among students studying German at higher education institutions in Uzbekistan, in honor of the 33rd anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence and the Day of German Unity (Tag der Deutschen Einheit).

Students from leading universities in our country, including JIDU, Uzbekistan National University, Nizami TDP, Chirchiq DPU, and UzSWLU, competed against each other. The event took place at the Spirituality Center of the Faculty of Roman-German Philology at UzSWLU.



The dean of the faculty, H. Hakimov, opened the event. He noted that the first visit of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to Uzbekistan on September 16-17 had heightened the relevance of this competition, emphasizing that the current development of relations between Uzbekistan and Germany is based on mutual respect and interest. He stated that the “Uzbekistan-Germany” Friendship Society could serve as a solid foundation for further successful development of strategic partnerships.



Yu. Ismailov, the chairman of the “Uzbekistan-Germany” Friendship Society, spoke about Chancellor Olaf Scholz's first official visit to Central Asia, particularly Uzbekistan. He highlighted that during this visit, the Chancellor was accompanied by representatives of leading investment, industrial, and trade companies from Germany, marking a new stage in Uzbekistan-Germany relations, which would further strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between our peoples. He specifically noted the active cooperation of the society with higher education institutions in Uzbekistan, particularly with UzSWLU. The society’s chairman expressed gratitude to the university administration for their support in organizing this competition, as well as to the leadership of the German Embassy in Tashkent.

The judges of the competition included Efa Schneider, an employee of the German Embassy in Tashkent, German expert Johanna Mayer, and leading specialist of the “Uzbekistan-Germany” Friendship Society Mohira Abdullaeva.

According to the results of the competition, the following universities won: 1st place - Chirchiq DPU; 2nd place - UzSWLU; 3rd place - JIDU.

All teams participating in the competition were awarded gifts from the “Uzbekistan-Germany” Friendship Society and the German Embassy in Tashkent.
