Scientific Seminar Discussion of a Dissertation Took Place

On February 20, 2026, a scientific seminar discussion was held at Uzbekistan State World Languages University on a dissertation submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Philological Sciences under specialty 10.00.06 — Comparative Literature, Contrastive Linguistics, and Translation Studies, entitled “Linguocultural Characteristics of the Concepts of ‘Joy’ and ‘Sorrow’ in the English and Uzbek Languages.”

The dissertation was prepared under the supervision of a scientific advisor. During the discussion, official opponents participated and expressed their views on the relevance of the research, its scientific novelty, and its theoretical and practical significance.

Throughout the seminar, the research findings were thoroughly analyzed, scholarly discussions were held on the linguocultural interpretation of the concepts, and the researcher provided detailed answers to questions raised by the participants.
