Seminar for Volunteer Interpreters Held at Uzbekistan State World Languages University

On April 25, 2026, a seminar for volunteer interpreters was held at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University as part of preparations for international events dedicated to the “International Day of Remembrance of Earthquake Victims.”

The seminar was organized as an important stage in preparation for a prestigious international event scheduled to take place on April 29–30 in Tashkent and Samarkand. A total of 42 volunteer interpreters from the university participated.

The event was attended by Sanjar Tokhirovich Zuparov, First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, along with senior officials of the ministry, who provided volunteers with essential guidance and instructions. During the seminar, detailed explanations were given on accompanying international guests and effectively organizing interpreting activities.

It was noted that the initiative for the “International Day of Remembrance of Earthquake Victims” was proposed following the devastating earthquake that occurred on February 6, 2023, in Türkiye and Syria. The tragedy claimed thousands of lives and significantly affected millions of people.

This date is observed internationally within the framework of initiatives put forward at the United Nations General Assembly. This year, the event is planned to be held in Uzbekistan at a high level, with more than 100 international participants from 25 countries expected to attend.

At the conclusion of the seminar, it was emphasized that volunteer interpreters bear great responsibility and play a crucial role in ensuring effective communication with international guests.
