The first meeting of the Uzbekistan–China Vocational Education Alliance was held in Tashkent

The event took place within the framework of the Second Uzbekistan–China Education Forum. The meeting was attended by Azimjon Husanov, Director of the Agency for Vocational Education under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan, Hugo Fu, Secretary of the Uzbekistan–China Vocational Education Alliance, as well as heads of leading technical and vocational institutions from both countries.

During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding cooperation in the field of vocational education, introducing advanced international practices into the learning process, and improving the system of training qualified specialists for modern professions.

In his speech, Azimjon Husanov emphasized that Uzbekistan is carrying out large-scale reforms aimed at improving the quality of vocational education, aligning curricula with international standards, and preparing competitive specialists. Currently, more than 442,000 students are studying in 598 technical schools across 370 disciplines. In 47 institutions, training is conducted under international programs in cooperation with Pearson (UK), ACWA Power (Saudi Arabia), Globogate (Switzerland), and German companies Avestos and BSW.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen collaboration between Uzbek and Chinese vocational institutions, develop joint innovative projects, expand student internship programs, and enhance the integration of education with industry.

For reference: Established in 2024, the Uzbekistan–China Vocational Education Alliance includes 23 technical schools from Uzbekistan and 128 colleges and 9 leading companies from China. The Alliance aims to promote sustainable cooperation in vocational education, develop innovative approaches to workforce training, and support youth employment.
