On 21 January at 10:00 a.m., a event entitled “Life Without Corruption” was held by senior lecturers Dilorom Muratova and Dilorom Khayrullayeva of the Department of Theoretical Aspects of the English Language–2, Faculty of English Language 2, with the participation of students from five groups.
A total of 40 students took part in the event, during which views were exchanged on the negative impact of corruption on the quality of education and principles of fairness, ensuring transparency in assessment processes, strengthening academic integrity, and fostering students’ sense of responsibility and legal awareness.
The event began with a presentation. The presentation covered the principles of combating corruption in higher education institutions, the most common forms of corruption (bribery, favoritism, abuses in assessment processes, plagiarism, and unfair practices in the allocation of dormitories and scholarships), identified “risk areas,” and outlined practical measures to mitigate them. In addition, recommendations were provided on ensuring transparent procedures, adhering to ethical standards, using anonymous reporting channels, and implementing internal audit and accountability mechanisms.
During the event, students emphasized the importance of adhering to the principles of honesty, fairness, openness, legality, and personal responsibility in creating an education environment free from corruption. At the conclusion of the event, a survey was conducted among participants, and based on its results, proposals were put forward to increase awareness of anti-corruption efforts, strengthen academic integrity rules, publicly disclose assessment criteria, and promote a culture of reporting suspicious situations. It was particularly noted that establishing a corruption-free educational environment plays a crucial role in improving the quality of education and ensuring fair relations.
