Professor from Uzbekistan State University of World Languages is upgrading qualifications at Germany’s leading university
Currently, Professor Dilrabo Baxronova, Doctor of Philology at Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, is upgrading her qualifications at one of Germany’s prestigious higher education institutions — Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, JGU).
Professor Baxronova is getting acquainted with the activities of the Turkology and Romance Languages departments at JGU, as well as the educational process and scientific research experience. She also exchanged ideas with JGU professors, lecturers, and master's students about the conditions created for foreign specialists at Uzbekistan State University of World Languages and the summer and winter educational programs for students.
According to Professor Baxronova, the research carried out by local scientists at this university in modern linguistic fields, including their high proficiency in free communication in Uzbek, left a strong impression on her.
For reference: Founded in 1477, this university is today one of the leading scientific centers in Germany and Europe. In the 2025 THE World University Rankings, it ranks between 251–300, and in the QS World University Rankings, it holds the 501st place within the top 1000.
Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz has over 40,000 students from more than 100 countries, contributing to an international environment. JGU is famous for achievements in nuclear physics, particle physics, biotechnology, and medicine. Today it operates based on a multidisciplinary approach. Several Nobel laureates are associated with this scientific school.
JGU is a leader not only in education but also in scientific and technological progress. For instance, BioNTech, the well-known company that developed the COVID-19 vaccine, is located in Mainz, and its scientists closely collaborate with JGU.
