The Activities of Foreign Language Development and Teaching Centers Are Being Effectively Organized

On November 26, 2025, a fascinating English language club session was held at General Secondary School No. 299 in the Shaykhontohur district of Tashkent, organized by N. Egamberdiyeva, a professor of the Department of Methodology of Teaching English at the second faculty of Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, teacher F. Ashurova, and XT2-2214 group student Yusupova Sevinch Bahromovna.

The session was held on the topic "Speaking skills: Enhancing students' speaking skills through discussion and communication. Learning linking words." The lesson was conducted as an experimental group with 10th-grade students. The primary goal of creating experimental groups was to strengthen students' knowledge and skills in the four main language skills (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking) and assist them in obtaining a B2 level language certificate by the end of the academic year.

During the session, students were thoroughly explained the meaning and role of commonly used linking words such as "and," "but," "however," "in addition," "therefore," and "as a result," as well as their importance in creating meaningful connections between sentences and in expressing speech fluently and logically. After that, students performed various exercises such as discussions, pair work, role-playing, and analyzing short texts through communication. Through this process, students developed the skills of using linking words correctly and appropriately.

At the end of the lesson, students completed situational tasks based on the topics and freely and logically expressed their opinions. As a result of actively using new linking words in the conversation, their fluency improved. The communication, exchange of ideas, and debates during the session strengthened the students' communicative competence.

This club session served to develop students' skills in speaking freely in English, form their competence in expressing thoughts clearly and logically, and further enhanced their interest in learning English.
