On April 19, a gathering with representatives from the Swiss Embassy in Uzbekistan featured a presentation of the translated work "Loqayd dunyo" by Swiss writer Peter Stamm at the Spirituality and Enlightenment Center of UzSWLU.
Hosted by the Faculty of Romano-Germanic Philology and the Department of Applied German Language Sciences, the event commenced with opening remarks from A. Nosirov, the university's Vice-Rector for International Affairs, who extended a warm welcome to the guests.
Renowned German-language author Peter Stamm's acclaimed work, "Loqayd dunyo," was translated into Uzbek by Hafiza Kochkarova, a senior teacher within the university's Department of Applied German Language Sciences, who is also a literary critic and translator. Stamm's literary repertoire spans 40 languages globally, with Uzbek marking the forty-first language into which his works have been translated. During the gathering, both Stamm and Kochkarova engaged with students, sharing insights into literature and the intricacies of translation.
Students actively participated by posing questions to the author and translator, receiving insightful responses in return. As a concluding gesture, signed copies of books authored by Peter Stamm and translated by Hafiza Kochkarova were presented.
