UzSWLU Delegation Holds Final Meeting at Tbilisi State University
On April 3, members of the delegation from Uzbekistan State World Languages University held a final meeting at Tbilisi State University.
During the meeting, I. Tukhtasinov put forward several proposals to establish Georgian language teaching in Uzbekistan. In particular, in accordance with agreements and directives between the Prime Ministers of the two countries, as well as their higher education ministries, it was proposed to organize intensive Georgian language courses for 10 students in June–July of the current year, involve qualified instructors from Tbilisi State University, and develop a specialized curriculum covering Georgian language, culture, and tourism.

Dr. Erekle, Vice-Rector of Tbilisi State University, along with the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and faculty members, noted that due to final examinations scheduled for June–July, it would be advisable to begin the courses in an online format and conduct the next stage offline in Tbilisi. The parties reached a mutual agreement on this proposal, and the Georgian side confirmed that it would begin organizational and methodological preparations.
Another important issue discussed during the meeting was the deployment of Georgian language teachers to UzSWLU starting from the 2026/2027 academic year. I. Tukhtasinov emphasized that all necessary conditions would be provided for these specialists. The partners stated that a final decision on sending 1–2 teachers would be made after further consultations.

The organization of summer camps for students in Uzbekistan and Georgia was also discussed. According to the roadmap, Uzbekistan plans to send 100 students, of whom 10–15 may be from UzSWLU to Tbilisi State University. Dr. Erekle highlighted their sufficient experience in this area and expressed support for the initiative.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties also discussed organizing professional development courses for teachers, conducting joint research, and expanding cooperation in other promising areas.
