Another Step Toward Expanding Cooperation with Korean Universities

On July 15, UzSWLU Rector Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov received a delegation from Jeju National University, including Kim Jeong Hoon — President of the Korean Leadership Society, Dean of the College of Economics and Business, and Director of the School of Business Administration — and Professor Kim Kyung Chul, Head of the university’s Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation.

During the meeting, the guests were provided with detailed information about UzSWLU’s activities, its position in international rankings, Korean language instruction, and current collaborations with Korean universities. An English-language video presentation about the university was also shown.

In turn, Kim Jeong Hoon introduced Jeju National University through a brief presentation and accompanying video.

He invited Rector Tuxtasinov to Korea for the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two institutions and expressed readiness to establish exchange programs for students, teachers, and doctoral candidates, as well as to send professors from Jeju National University to teach at UzSWLU.

As a concrete initiative, Kim Jeong Hoon proposed:

  • organizing a short-term educational and cultural program for 30 UzSWLU students with financial support from the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Jeju National University;

  • providing an AI-based digital learning platform for Korean language students at UzSWLU, sponsored by EduAIcon Inc., a company specializing in applying AI in education.

Regarding the second initiative, Rector Tuxtasinov signed a Memorandum of Understanding presented by the CEO of EduAIcon Inc.

According to this agreement, UzSWLU students will have free access to the platform until December 31, 2026.

Tuxtasinov also proposed:

  • launching joint undergraduate and graduate programs in coordination with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation;

  • arranging professional development and internship programs for English and Korean language teachers at Jeju National University;

  • conducting collaborative research, co-supervision of academic works, mutual peer reviews, and publication of joint articles in indexed journals;

  • attracting Korean students to study undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs at UzSWLU;

  • and organizing internships, training, and seasonal (winter/summer) camps for students.

Special focus was given to establishing a joint MBA master’s program within the faculty led by Kim Jeong Hoon.

Rector Tuxtasinov emphasized the need to develop a Roadmap based on all discussed topics and implement concrete steps accordingly.

Both sides confirmed their readiness for mutually beneficial and sustainable cooperation.
