On December 26, another English language club session was held at Secondary School No. 299 of the Shaykhontohur district of Tashkent city with the participation of N. Egamberdiyeva, a professor and lecturer of the Department of English Language Teaching Methodology of the Second Faculty of English at Uzbekistan State World Languages University, and teacher F. Ashurova.

The topic of the session was “CEFR and Language Competence Assessment.” The lesson was conducted in a variable group consisting of 10th-grade students and aimed to assess students’ knowledge and skills in English based on international CEFR standards.

During the session, students were provided with detailed theoretical information about the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) system, its A1–C2 levels, the language competences specific to each level, as well as the criteria for assessing reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills. The distinctive features of each level were explained through practical examples.

Throughout the lesson, students had the opportunity to consolidate their knowledge in practice through pair and group work, communication-based exercises, and tasks based on the CEFR system. Interactive activities contributed to the development of their language comprehension, clear expression of ideas, and independent learning skills.

At the end of the session, students freely expressed their opinions on the CEFR system, language levels, and assessment criteria, and acquired the necessary knowledge and competencies related to the topic. The club session concluded with an increased interest in English and enhanced motivation for effective language learning.
