On December 16, 2025, a meeting was held at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages with professors and students from the Azerbaijan State University of Languages.
The meeting was attended by Professor Malakhat Makharamova, Quality Assurance and Monitoring Department staff member Gunel Imanova, Confucius Institute staff Nargiz Akhundova, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Theory and Practice of Romance Language Translation Khadije Eyubova, Senior Lecturer of the Faculty of International Relations and Regional Studies Gulnora Afandiyeva, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences, PhD Gunel Garayeva, Senior Lecturer of the Department of World Languages, PhD Laura Zarbalieva, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Modern Languages, Faculty of Translation Nargiz Madatova, as well as Lecturer of International Relations Harun Sadiqli and students from the university.
From the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, the participants included Rector Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation A. Nosirov, Head of the International Cooperation Department H. Yuldashev, Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology D. Djuraev, Head of the Second Foreign Language Department E. Muydinova, and Head of the Department of Practical Spanish D. Baxronova.
The meeting was opened by Rector Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, who emphasized that friendly and cooperative relations between the brotherly peoples of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan continue to develop steadily in the field of education. He highlighted the importance of the cooperation established under the signed Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities, particularly the academic exchange programs implemented since 2025.
During the meeting, participants discussed mutual visits of faculty members, guest lectures, and experiences in international conferences. They also exchanged views on developing exchange programs, introducing Azerbaijani language teaching at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, participating in international academic events, modern teaching methods, and the use of information and communication technologies, including artificial intelligence, in the educational process.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides noted that this dialogue will contribute to strengthening higher education cooperation and creating new academic and scientific opportunities for faculty members and students.
