The Activity of Foreign Language Development and Teaching Centers Continues Effectively

On November 26, 2025, the next English language club session was held at Secondary School No. 299 in Shaykhontohur district, Tashkent, with the participation of Professor N. Egamberdiyeva from the Department of English Language Teaching Methodology at the Faculty of English, teacher F. Ashurova, and XT2-2214 group student Sevinch Bahromovna Yusupova. The session was conducted on the topic “Speaking skills: enhancing students’ speaking skill through discussion and communication. Learning linking words,” and was carried out experimentally with variable groups of 10th-grade students.

During the lesson, students were explained the meanings of linking words such as “and,” “but,” “however,” “in addition,” “therefore,” and “as a result,” their role in connecting ideas between sentences, and their function in expressing speech logically. Then, exercises were conducted in small groups (discussion), pairs (pair-work), role-play activities, and analysis of short texts through communication. This process helped students consolidate their skills in using linking words correctly and appropriately.

At the end of the session, students freely and logically expressed their thoughts based on given situations, actively using the new linking words, which significantly improved the fluency of their speech. This club contributed to the development of students’ abilities to communicate freely in English, express their ideas clearly, logically, and coherently, and further increased their interest in language learning.
