On October 20-22, 2023, at the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany, events were held in Berlin as part of the "Uzbek Language Week" at the Humboldt University and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany.
Hafiza Kuchkarova, a teacher of the Department of Applied Sciences and Gulrukh Elmuradova, a university researcher, senior teacher of the Department of English Language Teaching Methodology and Educational Technologies, took part in the events.
Professors and teachers of the Central Asian Department of the Humboldt University's Faculty of Asian and African Studies, foreign students studying Uzbek, as well as linguists and literary experts attended at event.
Prof. Max- Stefan-Emmrich, head of Humboldt University's Central Asia Department, and Uzbek language teacher Dr. Ayfer Durdu gave lectures at the event, saying that learning Uzbek has become a tradition at the university today. They noted that there is an increasing interest in not only learning the language, but also Uzbek culture, history, and traditions.
According to the program of the event, speeches were presented to the attention of the participants by literary experts and cultural figures from Uzbekistan on various topics, as well as samples of the poetry of Uzbek poetess Farida Afruz by Hafiza Kochkarova in Uzbek and in German translations were presented. German experts listened the translations with great interest and gave a high rating. Gulrukh Elmuradova, a researcher of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University, in her lecture entitled "Linguistic and cultural aspects of tourism texts in Uzbek linguistics" talked about the formation of new words in the field of tourism, which is one of the main aspects of today's Uzbek linguistics. Also, she performed samples of Uzbek art.
