The Korea–Uzbekistan University Rectors’ Forum Continues

According to the forum agenda, on December 5, 2025, the participants visited Ajou University in the Republic of Korea.

For reference: Ajou University is a private research university established in 1973. It conducts educational and research activities in engineering, information technology, business, medicine, humanities, linguistics, social sciences, and many other fields. The university has nearly 14,000 students enrolled in bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programmes.

Ajou University cooperates with more than 330 universities worldwide. It offers student exchange programmes, international summer schools, as well as Korean language and culture programmes.

The Uzbekistan branch of Ajou University began operating in 2020. It provides bachelor’s degree programmes in architecture, civil engineering, electrical and computer engineering, IT business, languages, and other fields.

Ajou University is recognized in South Korea and actively participates in international rankings. The university places strong emphasis on the quality of education, scientific research, and international cooperation. As part of its new “Vision 4.0” strategy, collaboration with industry as well as educational and research activities have been strengthened. The university conducts various projects with prestigious institutions such as Harvard, Yale, and Stanford, as well as major global companies.

The 17th president of Ajou University, Professor Choi Ki-Ju, a specialist in transport systems engineering, is actively promoting the university’s innovation- and future-oriented development strategy — including expanding international partnerships, opening new faculties and programmes, and strengthening cooperation with industry. He gave a presentation to the guests about the digitalization of education processes and the use of artificial intelligence. Afterwards, the participants explored the university’s infrastructure, modern laboratories, and research centres, and exchanged proposals on further developing cooperation.

The next stop was the Samsung Company Museum. The museum displays exhibits, products, and materials showcasing the company’s history and current achievements. Forum participants received detailed information about the company’s activities, modern technologies used in production, and its accomplishments. Educational tools and devices produced by Samsung and used in teaching processes were also demonstrated.
